Objectives
The University Honors Program at Loyola Marymount University seeks to offer academically outstanding students with intellectually creative, rigorous courses that promote a life-long love of learning and the intellectual habits required to serve others. The sequence of courses culminates in a Senior Thesis project (either HNRS 4100 or a Senior Thesis/Project completed through a course in their major), prepared under the guidance of a faculty mentor. Honors students are strongly encouraged to present their work at the LMU Undergraduate Research Symposium as well as national conferences in their discipline. Selected students will have the opportunity to attend and present work at the annual conferences for the National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC) and the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU).
For more on the program, including how to apply, please consult the description of the University Honors Program in the Academic Programs and Services section of the Bulletin, or look at the program’s website at http://www.lmu.edu/honors.
