ENVS 279 Principles of Environmental Sustainability3 semester hours This course explores the reality that the most difficult and enduring challenges are not merely technical but also social and institutional. An introduction to the basic science behind key environmental issues is provided along with tools for analyzing the social and institutional underpinnings of environmental conflict, and strategies to move towards sustainability. Lecture, 3 hours. Prerequisite: MATH 101 or higher, or placement into MATH 106 or higher. University Core fulfilled: Explorations: Nature of Science, Technology, and Mathematics. |
