CMSI 367 Biological Databases3 semester hours The representation, storage, and transformation of biological data. The central dogma of molecular biology, the genetic code, the Human Genome Project, sequence databases, formats and conversion, searching and regular expressions. Document and relational databases in biology. Students build and potentially release an open source gene database for a new species at the end of the course. Lecture, 3 hours. |
