HHSC 320 Obesity and Behavior3 semester hours This course will examine how body composition, endocrinology, genetics, neuroscience, and inflammation contribute to the development of obesity-related chronic disease. Special emphasis on the burden of chronic disease in medically underserved communities, as well as disparities in nutritional options and opportunities for physical activity. This course will integrate disease prevention and health promotion to foster culturally and environmentally appropriate application of theory in public health. Prerequisites: BIOL 101 ; HHSC 230 or HHSC 278 . |
