The Mathematics minor is designed for students in other majors who wish to broaden their mathematical knowledge and skills, or simply pursue an intellectual interest in mathematics. Courses may be chosen with a focus on applications of mathematics to other disciplines, or on mathematical theory, depending on the goals of the student. A mathematics minor can be valuable either in searching for jobs or applying to graduate school, demonstrating skills in quantitative and logical reasoning that are valuable in any field.

Notes:
A cumulative grade point average of C (2.0) or better is required in the courses included in the Mathematics minor.
Statistics and Data Science majors can complete a minor in Mathematics subject to the following requirements:
- The student must fulfill all requirements of the Math minor, and

The student must complete a minimum of 8 units of MATH courses for the Math minor, at least 4 of which must be upper division, that are not counting towards any other program in which the student is enrolled.
