Introduction
The Accelerated Educational Studies Program will provide undergraduate students in the teacher education pipeline, the opportunity to earn their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree, preliminary teaching credential, and Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Educational Studies within five years at LMU. The B.A. and preliminary teaching credential will be earned within the first four years of undergraduate study. The M.A. in Educational Studies will be earned in an additional post-baccalaureate year. Courses in this program are delivered in an online or hybrid modality.
This interdisciplinary program provides experiences and opportunities for students to design an individualized, unique master’s curriculum that reflects their personal and professional goals. Students may also pursue a California Bilingual Authorization as part of their individualized program of study, pending completion of approved coursework and credential requirements. Further, students having graduated LMU with a major in Education and Learning Sciences (EDLS) and Preliminary Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential, who selected a Concentration in Special Education, may have the option to pursue a Preliminary Education Specialist Mild/Moderate Support Needs Credential as part of their individualized program of study, pending completion of approved coursework and credential requirements. The program prepares students to be scholarly, reflective, and transformative leaders in the education profession.
